Contract Duration: 1 year (with potential for extension, subject to funding)
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week), office-based or hybrid

Salary: £21,000 – £23,000

Outdoor and Sustainability Education Specialists (OASES) are actively seeking to recruit two full-time Junior Project Officers to become integral members of our dedicated team.

Role Overview

As a Junior Project Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering various projects and training programs focused on sustainability education. You will collaborate with schools to create engaging learning experiences that promote environmental awareness and action.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Project Delivery: Implementing a variety of sustainability-focused projects within schools.
  • Training Facilitation: Leading training sessions and workshops for educators and students to enhance their understanding of sustainability practices.
  • Curriculum Development: Assisting in the creation of educational materials and resources that support sustainability education.
  • Engagement Activities: Organizing events and activities that encourage schools to participate in sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking the progress of projects and assessing their impact on students and the school community.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • Experience Working with Children: Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively with children and young people, preferably in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability: Familiarity with energy conservation and broader sustainability initiatives.
  • Education Background: A relevant degree in fields such as education, environmental sciences, sustainable development, or energy conservation.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure: A current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.

Desirable Skills and Experience

While not mandatory, the following attributes will be advantageous:

  • Experience with Outdoor Learning: Previous involvement in projects that focus on learning outside the classroom.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
